Privacy policy
Last updated 24 October 2026
Playnite Library Web turns your Playnite game library into a web page. This policy explains what is collected, what becomes public, who processes it and how to delete it. The short version: your library page is public to anyone who has its link, and nothing else about you is shown.
Your library is public by link
- Your library is published at
/u/your-handle(and at a permanent address made of random letters and digits). Anyone who has either link can view it without signing in. - Libraries are not listed or searchable on this site, and pages ask search engines not to index them. You can allow search engines from your account page, after which your library may appear in search results.
- Anyone who can see your library can also copy, screenshot or share what is on it. Do not upload anything you would not want public.
- Your handle is public. After you change it, the old handle redirects to the new one for 90 days.
What is collected
Library data you upload
When the extension uploads your library, it sends, for each game:
- name and sorting name, store (library plugin), the store's game ID and Playnite's game ID
- playtime, last played, added, modified and release dates
- genres, tags, categories and platforms, including tags and categories you created yourself
- installed, favourite and hidden flags
Install folders are never uploaded. Hidden games are left out unless you turn on Include hidden games in the extension settings, and games excluded by the extension's filter are left out too. Each upload replaces the previous one.
Your account
Sign-in is handled by Clerk. Clerk stores your email address and the profile details your sign-in provider (for example Google) shares. This site only stores Clerk's identifier for your account; your email and name are never shown on your library page.
Linked PCs
For each PC you link, the site stores the PC name the extension reports (the Windows computer name unless you change it), when it was linked, when it last uploaded, and a fingerprint (hash) of its access token, never the token itself.
Technical data
- When a PC starts linking, a one-way hash of its IP address is kept for up to an hour to limit abuse, then deleted.
- The hosting provider keeps short-lived request logs, which include IP addresses, for operating and securing the service.
- Sign-in pages use cookies set by Clerk to keep you signed in. Library pages set no cookies. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.
How it is used
- To show your library page and keep it up to date.
- To find cover art: names and store IDs of games are looked up on Steam and on IGDB (run by Twitch). These lookups contain game information only, nothing about you, and their results are shared between all libraries.
- To let you manage your library, handle and linked PCs, and to prevent abuse.
Your data is not sold, rented or used for advertising.
Who processes it
These providers may process data outside your country, under their own privacy policies.
Keeping and deleting your data
- Stop uploading: choose Unlink this PC in the extension settings, or unlink PCs from your account page. The last upload stays online.
- Delete your library: from your account page. Your games, handle, linked PCs and manual Steam matches are deleted immediately and the page stops working.
- Delete your account: from your account page. This deletes your library and your sign-in account.
- Deleted data may remain in the database provider's short-term backups until they expire.
- Cover-art matches (which Steam game a store game corresponds to) are not personal and are kept to help everyone's libraries.
Children
The service is not intended for children under 13, or under the age of digital consent where you live.
